Welders Required In New Zealand

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, drawings, measurements, and welding symbols.
  • Select appropriate welding methods and equipment based on project requirements.
  • Perform TIG, MIG, ARC, and MMA welding across various positions including vertical, horizontal, and overhead.
  • Operate tools such as angle grinders, saws, calipers, clamps, and measuring devices.
  • Prepare, align, and fit components to form complete units or subassemblies.
  • Clean, smooth, file, chisel, and grind welded surfaces to achieve a finished result.
  • Repair machinery, pipe systems, and metal components as required.
  • Install flashing and aluminium cladding when needed.
  • Follow safety procedures at all times and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Test and inspect welds and structures for defects and compliance.
  • Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Work according to AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes and standards.

Qualifications

  • At least two years of relevant welding and fabrication experience.
  • Strong ability to read plans, drawings, and layout specifications.
  • Skilled in TIG, MIG, ARC, and related welding techniques.
  • Comfortable using manual and electrical tools such as saws, grinders, diggers, and trucks.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials.
  • Able to work across different job sites throughout Auckland when required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • New Zealand citizens and residents are preferred. Applicants should clearly state their residency status in their application.
