Key Responsibilities

You will be a key player in maintaining the safety and reliability of essential underground mining equipment. Your role will involve:

• Performing scheduled maintenance, breakdown repairs, and inspections on a range of heavy underground mining machinery.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical (Fitter) or electrical-electronic (Electrician) faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard of quality and in strict compliance with site-specific safety protocols and legislation.
• Collaborating closely with other crew members and supervisors to ensure a seamless and productive workflow.
• Accurately completing all necessary job cards, maintenance records, and safety documentation.

Qualifications

To ensure safety and excellence, all candidates must meet these essential requirements:

• A current Queensland Mechanical Trade Certificate (for Fitter roles) or a Queensland Electrical Trade Certificate & Electrical Licence (for Electrician roles).
• A minimum of 12 months of recent, hands-on experience working in an underground coal mining environment.
• A current QLD Coal Board Medical certificate, or the ability to obtain one immediately.
• A valid Driver’s Licence or formal photographic ID.
• For Electricians: Current LVR-CPR certification and EEHA (Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas) competency.
