Key Responsibilities

As a Forklift Operator for the 2026 season, you will be at the operational core of our port logistics. Your key duties will include:

• Safely and efficiently operating forklifts within designated port areas, including high-bay cool stores and busy wharfside zones for vessel loading/unloading.
• Handling export-grade kiwifruit pallets with care, ensuring they are moved, stacked, and stored correctly to maintain perfect condition.
• Working closely as part of a coordinated team to meet tight loading schedules and ensure the smooth flow of cargo.
• Performing associated manual tasks as required in a fast-paced port environment.
• Adhering to all site safety protocols, company procedures, and industry regulations at all times.

Qualifications

We are looking for reliable, safety-conscious operators who meet the following criteria:

• Proven experience as a forklift operator is essential. Prior packhouse, cool store, or port logistics experience is highly advantageous.
• Must hold a minimum of a New Zealand restricted Class 1 driver’s license and have your own reliable transport to get to and from the Mount Maunganui site.
• Must be physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks in a dynamic, sometimes demanding, port environment.
• A positive, “can-do” attitude, a strong team-player mindset, and a willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• All successful candidates must pass pre-employment medical and drug testing, as well as ACC and Ministry of Justice background checks. You must also be legally eligible to work in New Zealand.
