Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all workplace health and safety guidelines and maintain safe work habits.
  • Study technical drawings, blueprints, illustrations, and project specifications before starting tasks.
  • Select, clean, and prepare metal materials for fabrication.
  • Use hand tools, thermal cutting equipment, and metal-slicing machinery to cut materials accurately.
  • Shape and bend metal sections and pipes using manual and mechanized tools, including heat-assisted processes.
  • Align components for assembly using measurement tools and precision instruments.
  • Assemble metal parts using welding techniques, as well as bolting and riveting where required.
  • Inspect welds for accuracy, penetration, alignment, and overall quality.
  • Finish products through cleaning, burnishing, shaping, and solutions-based treatments.
  • File, chisel, and grind welds to achieve a smooth final surface.

Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a related field.
  • Strong work ethic, dependable time management, and a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to grow skills and adapt to different fabrication tasks.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to complete assigned duties to standard.
  • Must hold New Zealand residency or a valid NZ work visa.
