Responsibilities
- Transport waste oil and products to customer sites safely.
- Fill out log books, manifests, and bills of lading with care.
- Comply with Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) rules.
- Talk to dispatch to keep trucks and equipment in good shape.
- Drive semi-trucks, mostly with van trailers, on set routes.
- Load and unload liquids using pumps or similar tools.
- Follow daily schedules for waste pickups and deliveries.
- Check trucks before, during, and after trips to stay safe.
- Travel multi-day routes through places like Labrador or Quebec.
- Stay overnight in truck cabs when routes demand it.
- Meet travel rules for ferries or airlines as needed.
- Join safety meetings and report problems right away.
- Keep a clean driving record and follow all traffic laws.
- Handle extra tasks when supervisors ask.
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent. Training in TDG, WHMIS, or First Aid is helpful but not required.
Experience
2-3 years driving semi-trucks with van trailers. Skills with b-trains, tank trailers, or roll-off bins are a bonus.
