Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our operational team, you will be entrusted with a variety of crucial tasks:
- Safely operating Class 2 and or Class 4-5 trucks and recovery vehicles for breakdowns, accident towing, and vehicle recoveries.
- Conducting long-distance transport jobs across the North Island as required.
- Competently using onboard equipment, including forklifts, for vehicle loading, securing, and unloading.
- Providing professional roadside assistance and representing the company with integrity at all job sites.
- Working closely with clients, insurance assessors, and police, ensuring clear communication and compliance with procedures.
- Performing basic mechanical checks and demonstrating problem-solving skills to handle complex recovery situations.
- Adhering to a 24-7 roster that includes nights and weekends, maintaining flexibility to meet operational demands.
Qualifications
To ensure safety and excellence on the road, we require all candidates to have:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience driving a Class 2 truck; a Class 4 or 5 licence is highly preferred.
- A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence and the ability to drive manual vehicles.
- Proven competency in operating a forklift.
- A clean criminal record, as Police vetting is required.
- Good mechanical knowledge and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand (residency or valid work visa).
- Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work 50–70 hours per week on a rotating roster that includes nights and weekends.
The Ideal Candidate Will Also Have:
- A Class 4 licence with specific towing or recovery industry experience.
- A current vehicle recovery endorsement.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
