Key Responsibilities

Upon successful completion of the training program, your key duties will include:

• Safely operating trains across the extensive Sydney metropolitan network, adhering to all strict safety protocols and schedules.
• Ensuring the punctuality and reliability of passenger journeys, helping people get to work, school, and home safely.
• Conducting pre-departure checks and monitoring train systems for optimal performance throughout your shift.
• Making clear-headed decisions and responding effectively to a variety of situations and scenarios on the network.
• Providing clear and timely communication with control centres and platform staff to maintain seamless network operations.
• Upholding the highest standards of customer safety and service at all times.

 Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who are ready for a rewarding long-term career. The ideal applicant will possess:

• A strong commitment to completing our demanding one-year, full-time training program, including additional home study.
• The resilience and dependability to work a 24-7 rotating roster, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
• A high level of personal organisation and the capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A genuine interest in a safety-critical role and a responsible attitude.
• While not essential, previous experience in a safety-focused environment is highly regarded.
