Key Responsibilities

You will be a vital part of the on-site maintenance team, ensuring mining vehicles remain operational. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Performing all aspects of tire service on large mining equipment, including the safe dismounting, mounting, balancing, and repair of massive OTR tires.
  • Operating and maintaining specialized heavy-duty tire service equipment such as tire manipulators, service trucks, and forklifts.
  • Conducting thorough tire inspections and preventative maintenance checks to identify wear and potential failures before they occur.
  • Collaborating closely with mine maintenance personnel to schedule and execute tire services with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are in excellent working order.
  • Managing tire-related inventory and assisting with warehouse organization.

Qualifications

We are looking for a technician with proven hands-on experience. The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of two years of experience as a tire technician, with direct experience in mining or a similar heavy industrial environment being a significant asset.
  • Specific experience servicing tires on Komatsu haul trucks and Giant loaders with protection chains is highly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • The physical capability to safely lift heavy loads and perform demanding tasks in an outdoor mining setting.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • A valid driver’s license and a secondary school diploma or equivalent.
