This is a pivotal position where you will provide direct support across all manufacturing processes, act as the 2IC to the Operations Team Leader, and drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement on the floor. Key Responsibilities
In this key leadership role, you will be the operational anchor on your shift. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct, hands-on technical and operational support throughout the bakery manufacturing process.
- Ensuring strict adherence to all safety and quality standards at all times.
- Stepping into the Operations Team Leader role as the 2IC in their absence, providing continuity and leadership.
- Identifying and leading continuous improvement opportunities, participating in manufacturing trials, and troubleshooting complex problems.
- Monitoring equipment performance, identifying maintenance needs, and completing appropriate autonomous maintenance tasks.
- Supporting production through ingredient preparation, line balancing, and coaching team members to achieve targets.
- Fostering a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
Qualifications
To be successful, you will need a blend of technical expertise and leadership capability. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A relevant baker qualification or significant hands-on experience in a food manufacturing environment, ideally within baking.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience with strong coaching and team development skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex operational challenges.
- A strong continuous improvement mindset and the initiative to drive positive change.
- High reliability, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to the highest standards of safety and quality.
