We are seeking a reliable and proactive Retail Security Officer to join our team at Nelson’s leading DIY retailer. This is a permanent full-time role (40 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday). The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of our customers, team members, and store property.
As a Retail Security Officer, you will be responsible for preventing theft, monitoring store activity, and maintaining a safe shopping environment. You’ll be on your feet for most of the day, actively engaging with staff and customers while upholding high professional standards.
This position reports directly to the Security Supervisor and works closely with store management and local law enforcement when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and customers.
- Monitor and protect company assets, stock, and property from theft or damage.
- Deter criminal activity through visible presence and proactive engagement.
- Observe and report any suspicious behavior or incidents.
- Assist customers courteously when required, supporting a positive shopping experience.
- Collaborate with store management and law enforcement where appropriate.
- Operate CCTV and other security systems (experience with AUROR or similar systems advantageous).
