Taipei American School is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities Department. This role plays an essential part in maintaining a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for our students, faculty, and staff. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing school facilities and equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and recommending system improvements to ensure all campus facilities operate at their best.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular and emergency maintenance and repair work across school facilities and equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and suggest improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Prepare timesheets and work orders accurately and on time.
- Assist supervisors in overseeing renovation and construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety and facility standards.
- Support teachers and staff with special facility-related requests as assigned by supervisors.
- Remain on-call after regular working hours to handle any emergency repairs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and ensure all tools and materials are properly stored.
Qualifications And Requirements
Education And Experience
- College degree or vocational school certificate preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in relevant fields such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC installation, pipefitting, or welding.
- Must hold a valid Class C or Class B technician certification for interior wiring work.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, including carpentry, welding, door repair, tiling, and plastering.
- Flexibility to work in shifts and adjust schedule as required by maintenance needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills with a cooperative attitude.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labor safely.
Work Schedule
- 08:00 AM – 17:00 PM (includes 1-hour lunch break)
- The technician will follow a rotational work schedule, confirmed annually.
- Must be available for on-call duty after hours as required.
