Your Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be the driving force behind our maintenance engineering function. Your day-to-day will be varied and impactful, encompassing:
- Providing direct, hands-on maintenance support to our manufacturing operations and various plant departments to minimise downtime.
- Planning, implementing, and conducting comprehensive maintenance for the facility to ensure an uninterrupted and cost-effective production flow.
- Providing effective supervision, support, and direction to a small, dedicated maintenance team.
- Taking ownership of the maintenance budget, managing costs, and ensuring expenditures align with the annual financial plan.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining accurate preventative maintenance records and schedules.
- Leading and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives, including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), 5S, and Autonomous Maintenance Teams.
- Managing external contractors and nurturing positive relationships with key suppliers.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of process changes to support the manufacture of new and existing products.
What You Bring to the Role
To be successful in this senior hands-on position, you will ideally possess a blend of technical and leadership skills:
- A formal tertiary qualification in a mechanical discipline, such as a trade certificate or relevant degree.
- Several years of proven, hands-on experience in a maintenance role within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong mechanical problem-solving abilities; additional basic electrical competency would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with experience in supervising or mentoring others.
- Exceptional planning, administrative, and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- A self-driven attitude, able to work autonomously and show initiative.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with teams, management, and contractors.
