Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Laundry Manager in overseeing all daily laundry operations, including sorting, washing, drying, pressing, folding, and distribution of hotel linens, guest laundry, and staff uniforms.
- Ensure all processed items meet the hotel’s rigorous quality standards for cleanliness, presentation, and fabric care.
- Monitor production levels and workflow efficiency, adjusting staffing and assignments to meet operational demands.
- Conduct regular inspections of finished articles and work areas, identifying opportunities for quality improvement and process optimization.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, food and beverage, and front office departments to ensure timely delivery of linens and guest laundry.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns or special requests related to laundry services.
- Supervise, train, and mentor laundry attendants and support staff, ensuring all team members are competent in equipment operation, chemical handling, and customer service standards.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor performance, providing regular feedback, coaching, and corrective guidance as needed.
- Foster a positive, cooperative, and safety-conscious work environment.
- Assist in scheduling and managing staff rotations to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
- Identify and resolve operational issues, equipment malfunctions, and quality concerns promptly and effectively.
- Recommend and implement measures to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Stay current with industry trends, new equipment, and best practices in commercial laundry and hospitality textile care.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a commercial laundry, hotel laundry, or institutional linen services environment.
- Proven track record of training and leading teams in a fast-paced, quality-driven operation.
Technical Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of commercial laundry equipment operation, including washers, dryers, steam presses, and folding machines.
- Strong understanding of fabric care requirements, stain treatment, and finishing techniques for luxury textiles.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations, infection control protocols, and chemical handling procedures.
- Basic computer skills for reporting, inventory tracking, and scheduling.
