Key Responsibilities
As a Laundry Assistant, you will play a vital role in our daily operations. Your core duties will include:
- Operating washers and dryers, pre-treating and soaking items as needed according to established procedures.
- Carefully sorting, folding, and organizing clean laundry by resident identification and type, placing items into the correct storage or distribution bins.
- Performing minor mending of torn articles and ironing items as required.
- Conducting basic maintenance tasks, such as lubricating machines, and accurately mixing cleaning solutions or dyes.
- Strictly following all infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and sanitation standards to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Completing related tasks like counting inventory and maintaining accurate laundry records.
Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for a conscientious and dependable team member with:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in a laundry, housekeeping, or similar role is preferred, but we are willing to train a motivated candidate.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Physical capability to stand and walk for extended periods and routinely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills, a basic comfort with computers, and a keen eye for detail.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and hygienic work environment.
