Key Responsibilities

As an SMT Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for the meticulous assembly and quality of our electronic components. Your key duties will include:

  • Assembling circuit boards using Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) and through-hole soldering techniques.
  • Reading and interpreting work orders, production drawings, and schematics to follow precise assembly instructions.
  • Preparing components using lead-forming tools and performing pre-wave assembly tasks.
  • Conducting online visual inspection of PCBAs to ensure products meet strict quality standards before proceeding to the next stage.
  • Performing solder rework, touch-up, and component replacement on defective assemblies.
  • Testing, packaging, and preparing finished PCBA assemblies for integration.
  • Communicating any quality or process issues promptly to the team lead or supervisor.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment, including clean room protocols where applicable.
  • Assisting with the basic use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assembly equipment.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with specific hands-on experience and a solid work ethic. The requirements are:

  • A High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in SMT assembly, through-hole soldering, and electronic component identification.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in SMT inspection and performing rework on printed circuit boards.
  • Must have a strong, proven soldering background with complex assemblies.
  • Ability to read and write English proficiently to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, basic computer and math skills.
  • Must be a reliable team player, able to work full-time and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Willingness to learn and be trained on specific processes—we are committed to developing the right person.
