We are seeking dedicated Seasonal Maintenance and Production Assistants to join our fish processing team. Key Responsibilities
- • Assist in routine maintenance and minor repairs for heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Move heavy equipment, tools, supplies, and furniture within the plant.
- Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, drywall repair, and equipment cleaning.
- Support tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers as directed.
- Set up, operate, and dismantle machinery used for processing, cutting, cooking, smoking, brining, dehydrating, canning, bagging, or boxing fish and seafood products.
- Monitor machinery and equipment indicators, performing minor adjustments to ensure production quality.
- Inspect products and packaging for defects, ensuring conformity to company standards.
- Maintain safe and clean work areas in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications
- No formal education required; certificate, diploma, or degree not necessary.
- Previous experience in maintenance, production, or food processing is an asset.
- Ability to work under physically demanding conditions, including wet, noisy, hot, cold, and odorous environments.
- Dependable, flexible, and able to take initiative while remaining organized.
- Capable of performing repetitive tasks and handling heavy loads safely.
- Steel-toed safety boots and hard hat required; own tools preferred.
- Authorized to work in Canada and able to commit to seasonal hours (30–60 per week).
- Willingness to work shift or on-call schedules and relocate if necessary.
