Here is an opportunity for a keen individual to join a drainlaying team as a General Labourer or Trainee. This role would suit someone with a little labouring experience, but we are also open to entry-level applicants including school leavers who are keen to get into the Drainlaying and Civil industry. You will learn all aspects of laying pipe, with the potential to move into a drainlayer or operator role in the future. The hourly rate ranges from $20 to $28, based on experience, with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week. We are a dedicated drainlaying and civil construction team operating across South Auckland, Waikato, and North Auckland. Our work is hands-on, challenging, and rewarding. What You Will Be Doing
- You will assist the drainlaying team with a variety of tasks, including driving the tractor and mixing concrete.
- You will learn the basics of laying pipe and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of drainlaying.
- You will perform plenty of manual labour, so be prepared for physical work and getting dirty—especially in winter, when you’ll leave most days wet or muddy.
- You will follow instructions from experienced drainlayers and work well in a team environment.
- You will travel to worksites across South Auckland, Waikato, and North Auckland as projects require.
- You will maintain a drug-free workplace and adhere to all safety protocols.
What We Are Looking For
- You have a driver’s license and your own reliable car to get to and from sites.
- You are punctual and have a good work attendance record.
- You can follow instructions and work well in a team.
- You are a quick learner with good initiative.
- You are physically fit and not afraid of hard work.
- You have a strong work ethic.
- You are drug-free and committed to maintaining a safe workplace.
- You have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
- Some labouring experience is helpful, but we are also open to training the right entry-level candidate.
