Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on role, you will be the key to presenting our district at its best. Your primary duties will include:
- Maintaining council facilities to the highest standard through regular cleaning of public toilets, ensuring they are hygienic and fully stocked.
- Emptying rubbish bins and managing waste from various sites across the district.
- Performing interior and exterior cleaning of a variety of council buildings and facilities.
- Safely traveling between work locations throughout the Mackenzie District, enjoying the incredible scenery as part of your daily routine.
- Working effectively as part of the Parks and Reserves team to complete tasks to deadline and uphold our collective standards.
- Following all health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe environment for yourself, colleagues, and the public.
Qualifications
We are looking for reliable and self-motivated individuals with the following:
- A full Class 1 New Zealand Driver’s Licence is essential for traveling between sites.
- Proven relevant cleaning experience is essential for this role.
- The ability and willingness to work at least one day every weekend as part of a flexible weekly roster.
- Good physical fitness to perform cleaning duties across various locations.
- A strong health and safety focus, with a positive, can-do attitude.
- The ability to work both independently and cooperatively as part of a team to meet deadlines.
- Applicants must have New Zealand residency or a valid NZ work visa.
