Key Responsibilities

As a Driver II, you will ensure the secure and timely transit of sensitive goods, upholding our reputation for reliability at every turn.

• Safely and legally operate company vehicles to transport goods to and from designated destinations, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
• Professionally represent UCT through responsible driving habits, a neat appearance, and courteous interactions.
• Accurately complete and manage all necessary transportation paperwork, including delivery receipts and driving logs, in a timely manner.
• Proactively communicate any route delays, vehicle irregularities, or incidents to dispatchers and management without delay.
• Maintain a high degree of situational awareness, practicing safe work and driving habits in all weather and traffic conditions.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns immediately.
• Handle the physical demands of the role, including regular lifting (up to 100 lbs), bending, and loading/unloading cargo.

Qualifications

We are looking for a professional driver who combines experience with an unwavering focus on safety and quality.

• A minimum high school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of verifiable experience as a commercial delivery driver.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a strong advantage.
• The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Excellent time management skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
• Physical capability to lift up to 100 pounds and to bend/stand regularly throughout a shift.
• Basic computer and keyboard skills for logging and reporting.
• Flexibility to work irregular schedules, including short-notice assignments and potential long trips.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and driver’s license verification.
