As a Custodial Worker, you play a direct role in upholding this commitment, ensuring our facility reflects the respect and gratitude we have for our patrons every single day.
Key Responsibilities
Your diligent work will ensure our facility remains in impeccable condition. Your core duties will include:
- Performing comprehensive floor care, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors using heavy-duty powered equipment.
- Operating industrial vacuum cleaners to clean carpets, rugs, and drapes.
- Cleaning and sanitizing all restroom facilities, restocking supplies, and ensuring they are maintained in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.
- Washing windows, walls, and partitions; dusting and polishing furniture; and emptying all waste receptacles.
- Using ladders or scaffolds to clean light fixtures, vents, and high areas.
- Moving furniture or equipment as needed to perform cleaning duties and transporting trash to central disposal points.
- Performing basic maintenance on cleaning equipment, such as cleaning, oiling, and changing brushes or pads.
- Actively promoting the benefits of the Military Star Credit Card to customers in a courteous manner to support Exchange initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who is thorough and safety-conscious. The ideal applicant will have:
- : Elementary school education. Creditable job-related experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a 9 months for 9 months basis.
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Must be comfortable using ladders and operating powered cleaning equipment.
- Prior experience in janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning is highly beneficial.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and communicate effectively. A strong focus on safety and detail is essential.
- Willingness to perform a variety of cleaning tasks and maintain equipment.
Note: This is an intermittent (non-full-time) position. If a sufficient number of qualified candidates do not apply, the minimum qualifications may be lowered without reposting.
