Heritage Design is looking for a dedicated Installer Crew Lead Foreperson to join our team and help us craft stunning outdoor spaces across Waterloo Region. This is your chance to move beyond the tools and take charge of projects from the ground up, leading a crew to build the decks, fences, and sheds our clients dream about. If you’re a reliable leader who finds satisfaction in a job well-built and a team well-led, we want to talk to you.

Company Overview

For over three decades, Heritage Design has been the trusted name in deck and fence construction throughout Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas. Our reputation isn’t just built on the quality of our workmanship, but on the professionalism of our team and the enduring relationships we forge with our clients. We foster a supportive, friendly culture where motivated individuals can grow, learn, and build a lasting career. When you join us, you’re joining a company that values its people as much as its projects.

Key Responsibilities

As the leader on site, your role will blend hands-on construction with crew management to ensure excellence in every project:

  • Lead and supervise a crew of 2-4 in the construction of high-quality decks, fences, sheds, and gazebos, following specific designs and plans.
  • Collaborate with our management and estimating team from start to finish to ensure a smooth, efficient, and successful installation process.
  • Uphold our strict quality standards on every job site, ensuring the final product is something both the client and our crew can be proud of.
  • Delegate tasks effectively among crew members based on their individual skills and experience to optimize productivity and safety.
  • Conduct critical site preparations, including accurately measuring and marking property lines and footing locations.
  • Oversee the daily inspection, basic maintenance, and care of all tools, trailers, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Work outdoors year-round, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in all weather conditions while maintaining a safe worksite.

Qualifications

We are looking for a leader who combines experience with the right attitude. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the deck, fence, or a closely related construction industry is a strong asset. We are equally committed to training candidates with proven, transferable skills from similar fields.
  • A valid driver’s licence; a clean driving record is preferred.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and a reputation for honesty.
  • A proactive, eager-to-learn attitude with a clear potential for advancement within our growing company.
  • A strong individual work ethic coupled with the ability to motivate and work seamlessly within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact clearly and professionally with your crew, management, and office staff.
  • An unwavering commitment to working safely and enforcing safe practices on site.

Benefits and Perks

We believe in rewarding our team’s hard work with a comprehensive package that supports your career and well-being:

  • Competitive hourly wage of $25.00 – $33.00, based directly on your experience and skill level.
  • Consistent, full-time hours averaging 50 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with overtime paid.
  • Paid statutory holidays and the flexibility to request time off for travel or long weekends with advance notice.
  • All work is locally based in Waterloo Region, Wilmot, Perth, and Guelph no long-distance commuting.
