Key Responsibilities

As a Machinist, you will be entrusted with the complete machining process for critical components. Your key duties will include:

  • Studying and interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specifications to determine exact dimensions, tolerances, and the optimal sequence of operations.
  • Planning and performing machine setups, including selecting, aligning, and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and raw materials.
  • Calculating and setting machine controls to regulate critical machining factors such as speed, feed, depth of cut, and coolant flow.
  • Operating CNC machining centers, which includes entering commands, retrieving programs, and making precise edits to machine control media.
  • Performing first-article and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet all specified tolerances and quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting processes and making fine adjustments to optimize efficiency and part quality.

Qualifications

This role requires a combination of formal training and substantial hands-on experience. The ideal candidate will meet the following:

  • An Associate’s degree in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field OR a minimum of three (3) years of related machining experience and or training.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of machining principles, tool selection, fixturing, and material properties.
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC machining centers; prior experience with Okuma machining centers is highly preferred.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations for speeds, feeds, and offsets.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, CMMs).
  • A meticulous, safety-conscious, and quality-driven work ethic.
