Cleaners Required In Japan

Evergreen Outdoor Center, located in the breathtaking Hakuba Valley of Nagano Prefecture, Japan, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Attendant to join our hospitality team at the newly renovated Alps View Hotel in Tsugaike Ski Resort. This full-time position offers the chance to work in a dynamic, nature-filled environment where every day brings something new. As part of our housekeeping team, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the hotel’s cleanliness, comfort, and welcoming atmosphere ensuring our guests enjoy a memorable stay surrounded by the beauty of the Japanese Alps.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas to hotel standards.
• Ensure cleanliness of the lobby, entrances, staircases, ski locker rooms, and onsen facilities.
• Replenish amenities, linens, and guest supplies daily.
• Dispose of garbage and recycling in accordance with Japan’s detailed waste management system.
• Report maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, clogs, or damaged furniture) promptly to the Hotel Manager.
• Assist with snow removal around entrances and balconies during winter months.
• Participate in weekly deep cleaning and monthly inventory checks.
• Maintain organized linen and cleaning supply storage areas.
• Support additional housekeeping or facility-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Prior experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or a similar role.
• Strong physical stamina ability to lift up to 20kg and perform repetitive tasks.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to take initiative.
• Ability to communicate in conversational English (additional languages are a plus).
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred

• Knowledge of cleaning products, methods, and sanitation standards.
• Previous experience working in hotels, lodges, or restaurants.
• Positive attitude, professional appearance, and willingness to learn.

Salary

¥1,200 – ¥1,600 per hour (equivalent to approximately $10 – $14 USD per hour), depending on experience and performance. Overtime and seasonal bonuses may apply during peak seasons.
