What the Job Involves

  • Performing general housekeeping duties: You’ll clean and tidy rooms, common areas, and other spaces according to established standards.
  • Handling laundry and ironing: Washing, drying, ironing, and organizing household linens and personal items will be part of your daily routine.
  • Organizing household items: Keeping things neat, sorted, and in their proper places so everything is easy to find and looks orderly.
  • Providing courteous and professional service: You’ll interact with residents or guests in a respectful, polite manner, always mindful of their privacy and cultural background.
  • Maintaining cleanliness standards: Every room and common area should meet the expectations of the household or facility.

What You Must Have

  • JFT Basic A2 or JLPT N4 certification this is required and non-negotiable. Employers need proof that you can communicate effectively in Japanese.
  • Prometric exam certification also required and non-negotiable. This demonstrates your skills and readiness for the role.
  • At least a high school graduate education level.
  • A starting wage of $22 per hour.
  • Experience is welcome but not required. The posting states “with or without experience are welcome to apply,” so newcomers to housekeeping can apply as long as they have the certifications.
  • Valid passport ready for processing.
  • Professional attitude and respect for privacy and cultural differences.

What You Should Know

  • This role has strict certification requirements. If you don’t have both the JFT Basic A2/JLPT N4 and the Prometric exam, your application won’t move forward.
  • Experience is not required this opportunity is open to applicants who are new to housekeeping but have the necessary certifications.
