Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be trained to become an expert in maintaining and servicing life-saving equipment.
- Your primary responsibility will be to service, inspect, and repack life rafts and other related marine or aviation survival equipment in our Nelson workshop.
- You will follow strict manufacturer guidelines and regulatory standards to ensure every piece of equipment is certified and ready for use.
- Maintaining meticulous service records and documentation for each unit is a critical part of the job.
- You will work closely with your manager and team, learning from their expertise while also developing the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
- A conscientious approach and great attention to detail are essential, as the quality of your work directly impacts the safety of the end-user.
- You will use basic computer systems to log work and manage service schedules.
Qualifications
We are looking for people with the right attitude and a willingness to learn this specialised trade.
- A strong work ethic, conscientious nature, and genuine pride in producing high-quality work are the most important qualities we seek.
- You must be a reliable team player with good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A basic level of computer literacy is required for record-keeping.
- While a general trade qualification is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Certifications in servicing life rafts or marine/aviation safety equipment are highly desired but not expected for entry this is what we will train you for.
- Above all, we need people with a positive, proactive attitude and a real desire to learn a meaningful skill.
