Key Responsibilities
Your primary duty is to ensure every journey is safe, comfortable, and supportive for our residents.
- Safely operate a wheelchair-accessible van to transport residents to scheduled medical appointments, therapies, and approved outings.
- Provide patient, respectful assistance to residents during boarding and exiting, which includes safely securing wheelchairs and mobility aids.
- Perform basic vehicle safety checks before each trip and maintain a clean, well-presented vehicle interior.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and our facility’s specific transportation and safety policies.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with residents, their families, and staff members.
- Accurately complete all required transportation logs and documentation for each trip.
Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate who combines technical skill with a genuine, caring attitude. Here’s what you’ll need:
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record in the state of Wisconsin are mandatory.
- Prior, verifiable experience driving a wheelchair-accessible van is required for this position.
- The physical ability and training to safely assist residents with mobility needs, including operating wheelchair securement systems.
- A highly dependable, punctual, and safety-focused work ethic is essential.
- Must be available to work a part-time schedule of approximately 20 hours per week, which will include some afternoon/evening (PM) and weekend shifts.
