Key Responsibilities
In this customer-facing field role, you will be the trusted expert maintaining and repairing our clients’ essential equipment. Your core duties will include:
- Performing mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and timely breakdown services on a variety of material handling equipment, including forklifts and reach trucks, at customer sites across Mackay and surrounding areas.
- Conducting accurate diagnostics and troubleshooting to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Maintaining a professional, helpful, and communicative relationship with all customers, ensuring their needs are understood and exceeded.
- Completing all job documentation accurately, including service reports, timesheets, and parts usage records.
- Collaborating effectively with the wider service and parts teams to ensure seamless customer support.
- Keeping your knowledge current with the latest industry technology and service procedures through ongoing training.
Qualifications
To be successful in this hands-on role, you will need:
- A relevant trade qualification as a Forklift Mechanic, Automotive Electrician, Light/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or Plant Mechanic.
- Proven hands-on experience in a similar mechanical repair role, preferably with material handling equipment.
- A current White Card (Construction Induction Card) and a full Australian Driver’s Licence.
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screening.
- Strong diagnostic skills, a customer-focused attitude, and excellent communication abilities.
- A reliable, professional demeanour and the organisational skills to manage your own schedule and paperwork.
