Key Responsibilities

As the Church Custodian, you will ensure our facility remains a pristine and hospitable place for all. Your key duties will include:

• Performing daily cleaning tasks such as mopping, sweeping, and sanitizing restrooms, hallways, and entryways.
• Cleaning and polishing windows, glass surfaces, and window sills to maintain a bright and inviting atmosphere.
• Draining, cleaning, and sanitizing the Baptismal Font with care, preparing it for sacred use.
• Following a consistent cleaning schedule to ensure all interior spaces are maintained to a high standard.
• Setting up rooms for church services, meetings, and special events as directed by the Facilities Director.
• Emptying trash throughout the building and assisting with seasonal deep-cleaning projects.
• Promptly reporting any maintenance issues or safety hazards to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.

Qualifications

We are looking for a reliable individual who respects the environment in which they work. The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred, along with knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• The ability to work independently, follow a schedule meticulously, and maintain a strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, cooperative attitude when working with the Facilities Director and other staff.
• The physical capability to perform tasks that involve bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and standing for extended periods.
• A respectful and professional demeanor suitable for a religious and community-focused workplace.
