Responsibilities
In this role, you will be the central hub for our parts inventory, ensuring our mechanics have what they need, when they need it. Your day will involve:
- Managing and organizing the parts inventory for our heavy equipment and vehicle fleet with precision.
- Proactively ordering parts and supplies from vendors, and diligently tracking pricing and delivery schedules.
- Receiving, inspecting for damage, and properly stocking all incoming shipments.
- Maintaining impeccable records of inventory usage and assisting with regular audit counts.
- Collaborating directly with mechanics, supervisors, and procurement staff to anticipate parts needs and prevent downtime.
- Keeping the parts room clean, safe, and systematically organized.
- Processing warranty claims, managing returns, and handling core items efficiently.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring a mix of experience and the right attitude. We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience in a parts clerk, technician, or similar inventory-ordering role. Experience in a heavy equipment, trucking, or automotive environment is a significant asset.
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills, with a natural ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills to interact effectively with team members and vendors.
- The physical capability to lift, move, and manage parts and supplies as required in a shop environment.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
