Key Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Maintain the highest standards of kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety.
- Ensure ingredients are properly stored, prepared, and presented according to restaurant standards.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours with efficiency and attention to detail.
- Contribute ideas to menu development and daily specials when opportunities arise.
- Maintain a positive attitude and uphold the restaurant’s commitment to quality dining experiences.
Qualifications
Required
- At least one year of experience in a similar kitchen or hospitality role.
- Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques and food safety standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- A team player with a great attitude and willingness to learn.
Preferred
- Certificate or diploma in Culinary Arts or relevant training.
- Passion for Kiwi-inspired cuisine and local produce.
- Experience working in a high-volume restaurant or gastropub environment
