Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain public areas, patient rooms, and other healthcare spaces to the highest sanitization standards.
- Perform detailed cleaning tasks including light fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows, floors, and carpets.
- Clean washrooms, shower and tub rooms, and laundry rooms, ensuring all fixtures and surfaces are properly disinfected.
- Dust, mop, vacuum, sweep, and polish floors, and replenish supplies as needed.
- Move furniture, hang draperies, and set up tables and chairs for meetings or events.
- Empty trash and garbage containers, ensuring proper disposal in accordance with facility protocols.
- Make minor maintenance repairs or notify the supervisor of any repairs required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to help.
Qualifications
One year of previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Candidates must have the ability to use tools and equipment and to perform the physical aspects of the job, including standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive tasks. Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills, with a willingness to go beyond the basics, are essential. The ability to work under supervision, follow standard procedures, and comply with all health and safety standards is required. A Vulnerable Sector Background Check and immunization records are required.
