Key Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to maintain clean and safe walking surfaces.
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse from work areas.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers, ensuring proper disposal in accordance with facility protocols.
  • Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Perform safety and security checks, identifying and reporting any hazards or concerns.
  • Work with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and reliability in completing assigned tasks.

Qualifications

A secondary school graduation certificate is required. Candidates must hold a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System Certificate. Experience with power tools is essential. The ability to work under pressure, handle repetitive tasks, and manage heavy loads is required. Physical demands include bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Candidates must provide their own tools, safety equipment and gear, and uniform. Personal suitability traits such as dependability, initiative, and organization are essential.
