This is a night shift role operating machinery, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality standards are met in a manufacturing environment. What You’ll Be Doing
- Reading and following specifications:Â You’ll interpret job orders, engineering drawings (blueprints), and work orders to understand what needs to be produced.
- Operating and monitoring machinery:Â You’ll run equipment with minimal supervision, making sure everything functions properly and production output stays on track.
- Using hand tools and power tools:Â You’ll operate grinders, cutting torches, and other tools as needed for the job.
- Monitoring machine feed and speed:Â You’ll keep an eye on machining processes and adjust settings as required.
- Recording production data:Â You’ll maintain logs to track machine performance and output.
- Inspecting finished products:Â You’ll check products against specifications and quality standards, identifying and addressing any defects.
- Assisting with routine maintenance:Â You’ll help keep machines running smoothly and report any mechanical issues to the fabrication supervisor.
- Following safety regulations:Â You’ll work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and Company rules at all times.
- Maintaining a clean workspace:Â You’ll keep your work area and equipment clean and organized.
- Taking on other duties:Â Additional tasks as assigned by the lead hand or supervisor.
What You’ll Need
- High school diploma or equivalent technical or vocational training is preferred.
- Previous experience as a machine operator or in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.
- Experience operating machinery and knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques like 5S would be considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Basic math skills and proficiency in using measuring tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs with the assistance of a lifting device.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot by identifying mechanical errors.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane training we will provide.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be organized, proactive, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
