About the Company
JK Contracting LTD is a kiwifruit harvesting contractor based in the Bay of Plenty. They run a good crew with positive vibes, good banter, and genuine pride in doing the job properly. The team is looking for people who want to work hard, aren’t afraid of hard work, can turn up consistently, and fit into a team that likes a laugh but still gets the job done. For seasonal workers who want stability, consistency, and a supportive crew, this is a smart choice.
What You Will Do Every Day
You will work in a team picking kiwifruit across local orchards. You will walk through the vines, identifying ripe fruit ready for harvest. You will pick each piece by hand, carefully placing fruit into a picking bag that you carry across your shoulders. You will empty your bag into large orchard bins, working efficiently because your team’s pay is per bin. You will coordinate with your teammates to cover rows systematically, helping each other to maximise the team’s bin count. You will follow quality standards, avoiding bruising or damage to the fruit. You will work outdoors in variable weather, from warm sunny mornings to cool overcast days. You will use ladders or platforms to reach higher fruit where needed. You will also help with basic tasks such as moving empty bins or clearing fallen fruit. At the end of each day, you will see your team’s bin count. The work is physical, repetitive, and rewarding. Your earnings grow with every bin your team fills.

What We Are Looking For

You need to be physically fit because you will carry heavy picking bags and stand for full shifts. A good attitude is essential. No previous experience is required, but you must be reliable, hardworking, and able to turn up consistently. You must fit into a team that enjoys a laugh but takes pride in doing the job properly. No degree is mentioned or required. The season runs from approximately 10th March to 5th June 2026, so you must be available for that full period or a substantial portion.
Pay and Benefits

Different size bins mean different rates, but all are within that range. Because you work in a team, you share the reward. The harder the team works, the more each person earns.
