Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling including Cat 5 and other structured cabling systems according to industry standards.
- Assemble and mount equipment cabinets, racks, and hardware, ensuring proper alignment and secure placement.
- Interpret design drawings and blueprints to accurately execute system layouts and infrastructure placement.
- Perform end to end system testing and troubleshooting to verify functionality and compliance with project specifications.
- Work collaboratively with site managers and fellow technicians, taking direction while also exercising independent judgment on task execution.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety, including climbing ladders up to 25 feet, working on lifts up to 40 feet, and handling loads up to 50 pounds as required.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of three years of telecommunications infrastructure installation experience. BICSI Technician certification is strongly preferred, and additional certifications such as OSHA are a plus. Candidates must possess a current valid driver’s license and be able to pass pre employment drug and background screening. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance is essential, as this role supports sensitive projects. Strong analytical and organizational skills are necessary, along with the ability to work with minimal onsite supervision while following established procedures.
