Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to trouble calls, perform equipment maintenance, and initiate corrective actions to minimize system downtime.
  • Assist instructor pilots in setting up training scenarios through the operator station and associated devices, ensuring accurate simulation parameters.
  • Replace faulty components, wire circuits, repair simple electronics equipment, and take test readings using digital multimeters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Support basic IT and cybersecurity maintenance functions, helping to uphold system integrity and compliance with security protocols.
  • Complete administrative tasks and additional duties as assigned by the supervising technician, contributing to the overall efficiency of the maintenance team.

Qualifications

Candidates must be US citizens capable of obtaining and maintaining a SECRET clearance as well as Status of Forces Agreement status for Japan. A minimum of two years of electronics maintenance experience or graduation from a two year resident electronics technician program at an accredited technical institute or military equivalent is required. You must meet Information Assurance Technical Level I requirements per DoD 8570.01M, which includes holding an active CompTIA A+ certification along with an operating system certification such as Windows or Linux. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential.
