Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to after-hours callouts across the Chinchilla region during the 5:00 pm to 8:00 am window
- Operate tilt tray trucks safely and efficiently for vehicle recoveries, breakdowns, and accident scenes
- Provide excellent customer service to RACQ members and the public during what is often a stressful moment
- Assist with vehicle tows, breakdown support, and accident recoveries as dispatched
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and maintain cleanliness of the tilt tray truck
- Work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Represent both South West Queensland Tilt Trays and RACQ professionally at all times
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must hold a current HR or MR truck licence this is essential. A safe driving record and sound knowledge of road safety practices are non-negotiable. Local knowledge of the Chinchilla and surrounding region is preferred, as it helps with efficient response times. Previous towing or roadside assistance experience is highly regarded, but the right attitude and willingness to learn matter too. You need to be reliable, able to work independently, and comfortable handling the pressure of after-hours emergency situations. A commitment to a rotating or fixed on-call schedule is required.
