This is a night shift role operating machinery, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality standards are met in a manufacturing environment. If you have previous machine operating experience, you’re comfortable with hand tools and measuring equipment, and you can lift up to 50lbs with assistance, this could be a solid fit. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Reading and following specifications: You’ll interpret job orders, engineering drawings (blueprints), and work orders to understand what needs to be produced.
  • Operating and monitoring machinery: You’ll run equipment with minimal supervision, making sure everything functions properly and production output stays on track.
  • Using hand tools and power tools: You’ll operate grinders, cutting torches, and other tools as needed for the job.
  • Monitoring machine feed and speed: You’ll keep an eye on machining processes and adjust settings as required.
  • Recording production data: You’ll maintain logs to track machine performance and output.
  • Inspecting finished products: You’ll check products against specifications and quality standards, identifying and addressing any defects.
  • Assisting with routine maintenance: You’ll help keep machines running smoothly and report any mechanical issues to the fabrication supervisor.
  • Following safety regulations: You’ll work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and Company rules at all times.
  • Maintaining a clean workspace: You’ll keep your work area and equipment clean and organized.
  • Taking on other duties: Additional tasks as assigned by the lead hand or supervisor.

What You’ll Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent technical or vocational training is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a machine operator or in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.
  • Experience operating machinery and knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques like 5S would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency in using measuring tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs with the assistance of a lifting device.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot by identifying mechanical errors.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane training we will provide.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be organized, proactive, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
