Dykeland Lodge is seeking a Casual Housekeeper-Laundry Attendant (Environmental Service Worker) to help us maintain a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for our residents. Starting pay is $17.06 per hour, with an immediate increase to $18.77 after completing in-house orientation for those hired between November 2025 and May 2026. What You Will Be Doing
- You will perform duties related to maintaining a clean and sanitary environment throughout the facility.
- You will ensure that all linen is clean, healthy, and sanitary for resident use.
- You will use proper body mechanics and follow safety guidelines while performing your work.
- You will work with minimum supervision, taking initiative to keep areas clean and organized.
- You will interact with residents, families, and co-workers in a cheerful, respectful manner.
- You will maintain confidentiality and privacy in all aspects of your work.
- You will contribute to a positive, team-oriented atmosphere where everyone supports each other.
What We Are Looking For
The following experience and qualifications are considered assets:
- Previous experience in housekeeping and/or laundry.
- Experience in long-term care or a similar setting.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment.
- A genuine enjoyment of working with seniors.
- Exemplary customer service skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication in English with residents, families, and co-workers.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
- Reliability with good attendance and a cheerful disposition.
- Ability to take initiative and work with minimum supervision.
- A respectful, hardworking team player attitude.
- A Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening completed within the last 3 months is required.
