We are looking for a dependable, hands-on Battery Technician to join our warehouse team at our Marengo, Ohio facility (DC15). You will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient battery changes for our associates operating material handling equipment. You will use maintenance software systems to track work orders, respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, and assist with the maintenance of other facility systems—fire suppression, overhead doors, dock equipment, lighting, racking, and more. Key Responsibilities

Battery Handling And Maintenance

  • Ensure safe and efficient battery changes for associates operating material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on battery changer equipment and charging stations.
  • Monitor battery water levels, clean terminals, and maintain proper charging cycles to extend battery life.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain operational flow.

Facility Systems Support

  • Assist with or learn to maintain other facility systems, including:
  • Fire suppression systems
  • Overhead doors, dock plates, and levelers
  • Facility lighting and electrical systems
  • Warehouse racking and safety systems
  • Support the broader maintenance team with troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed to support operational demands.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Willingness to learn and support other warehouse maintenance systems, including fire suppression, doors, dock equipment, racking, lighting, and battery handling.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to safely operate tools and powered equipment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with battery changer systems or battery room safety.
  • Experience using CMMS or digital work order systems.
  • Certifications related to MHE repair, electrical safety, or equipment operation.
  • OSHA training or other safety-related certifications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and warehouse environments.
  • Ability to use hand tools and powered equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment and parts for wear or damage.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and proper PPE use.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Work Location:

  • 300 Cardinal Drive, Marengo, Ohio 43334 (DC15).
  • On-site position; no remote work option.
