Here’s one for experienced mechanical fitters who are up for a bit more than the usual workshop gig. A spot has opened at HMAS Albatross in Shoalhaven, and it’s a full-time role. You’ll be handling fuel-related assets, both day-to-day maintenance and the unexpected stuff that pops up. It’s a mix of hands-on work and some travel across NSW when needed. You’ll need to be trade qualified, know your way around fixed plant systems, and ideally have worked with fuel or in defence setups before. The pay starts at just over $47 an hour and goes up depending on your level, with tool allowance and super on top. It’s a long-term role with solid stability perfect if you’re after something that’s close to home and has real staying power.

About UGL
UGL is one of those companies that’s been around forever — since the late 1800s and it’s still growing. These days they’re part of the CIMIC Group, working on everything from transport to energy to defence. Their crews are all over Australia, handling projects big and small, and supporting the country in ways most people don’t even realise. This particular role is part of their defence work, so there’s a bit of structure and responsibility — but you’ll also be joining a solid team that looks out for each other. UGL’s known for being serious about safety and giving their staff the kind of backing that keeps people sticking around for years.
