Key Responsibilities
As a Trainee Operator, you will learn all aspects of our extrusion process under supervision. Your key duties will include:
- Learning to set up, operate, and monitor plastic extrusion machinery safely and efficiently.
- Reading work orders and technical drawings to understand product specifications.
- Preparing material mixes and using measuring tools like calipers and tape measures for quality control.
- Inspecting, packing, and labelling finished products at the manufacturing line.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work area and completing necessary production paperwork.
- Working proactively both under supervision and independently as your skills develop.
Qualifications
We are looking for a motivated trainee with the right foundational skills and attitude. The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent attention to detail, reliability, and strong timekeeping.
- A positive, respectful attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a self-motivated, proactive approach to learning.
- The physical ability to perform manual tasks and lift up to 25lbs.
- Must have safety boots (company-provided eye and ear protection).
A forklift licence and some previous experience in a factory setting are advantageous but not essential, as we provide full, paid on-the-job training.
