Key Responsibilities
As a Housekeeper Aide, you are a key contributor to our community’s well-being and safety. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Thoroughly cleaning assigned resident rooms, private bathrooms, and common areas daily. This includes dusting, dry and wet mopping, sanitizing, and scrubbing, all while respecting each resident’s privacy and personal space.
- Performing detailed cleaning of walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and floors according to established schedules and procedures.
- Safely disposing of all trash and waste, including biohazardous materials, strictly following facility policies.
- Using all personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning chemicals safely, keeping supplies securely stored away from residents.
- Monitoring and promptly reporting any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or evidence of pests to your supervisor.
- Communicating kindly and effectively with residents, families, and team members in our interdisciplinary care setting.
- Participating in emergency preparedness drills and carrying out assigned duties to ensure resident safety in any situation.
Qualifications
We are looking for individuals with a heart for service and a strong work ethic. To be successful, you will need:
- A friendly, positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
- The ability to express yourself well both in writing and conversation with residents, families, and staff.
- While experience in a healthcare or senior living environmental services role is preferred, a dependable nature and willingness to learn are most important.
- The physical capability to perform cleaning tasks and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- A deep respect for the privacy and dignity of our residents, knocking before entering rooms and honoring their personal space.
