Key Responsibilities

You will be central to our daily operations and long-term success. Your key duties will involve:

• Taking charge of daily production runs, overseeing everything from dough preparation and cake decoration to ensuring all products meet our strict quality benchmarks.
• Leading, coaching, and motivating our bakery team, fostering a positive and high-performing environment where everyone is encouraged to do their best work.
• Ensuring unwavering compliance with all Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations, making our bakery a safe place to work and shop.
• Managing crucial operational areas including stock control, purchasing, waste management, and accurate goods receipting to maintain financial integrity.
• Driving commercial performance by actively working towards sales targets, managing gross profit percentages, and controlling waste to meet key departmental KPIs.
• Upholding impeccable merchandising and product presentation standards that make our bakery counter irresistible to customers.
• Confidently handling SAP and related system processes to ensure smooth administrative and reporting functions.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you’ll need a blend of practical skill and leadership ability. We’re looking for:

• Proven experience in a bakery leadership role, such as a 2IC, Supervisor, or Manager, within a supermarket or high-volume commercial bakery.
• A strong, practical understanding of end-to-end bakery production and a good grasp of bakery financials, including cost control and profitability.
• Excellent communication and people leadership skills you know how to guide a team, provide constructive feedback, and resolve challenges effectively.
• Outstanding organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks in our fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience with SAP and Foodstuffs systems is essential for this position.
• The right to work in New Zealand is a must, and you should currently reside locally to be fully engaged with our team and operations.
