Colter Energy LP is looking for motivated Field Assistants to join our Blackfalds (Red Deer) team. This full-time, field-based role involves traveling to worksites across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Northern British Columbia to perform gas well testing duties. No prior oil and gas or well testing experience is required—what matters most is your willingness to learn, follow safety protocols, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced field environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in rigging in and out of equipment required for well testing operations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of well testing equipment under the direction of Supervisors.
  • Take accurate readings of gauges and monitoring systems during shifts.
  • Follow all safety procedures and adhere to Colter’s policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with Field Supervisors and Management to complete assigned duties efficiently.
  • Be prepared for extended workdays and travel away from home as required.

Qualifications

  • Reside within 30 minutes of Blackfalds (Red Deer).
  • Required certifications: Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, CSO training from Energy Safety Canada.
  • Willingness to complete pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow directions accurately.
  • Comfortable working long shifts (up to 12+ hours) in field environments.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing work conditions.
