Job Title

Electrical Fitter

Responsibilities

Install and repair LV/HV electrical equipment safely.
Joint and terminate cables up to 1kV.
Assemble panels, junction boxes, and switchgear.
Perform electrical testing and ensure safe conditions.
Carry out network switching and isolations.
Maintain substations and transformer systems.
Troubleshoot faults in distribution networks.
Follow health, safety, and environmental standards.
Collaborate with teams for efficient service.
Provide excellent customer support on site.
Assist with commissioning 11kV/33kV systems.
Oversee load break switches and reclosers.
Document work and report issues promptly.
Participate in planning and contractor oversight.
Ensure compliance with electrical regulations.

Requirements

Education

New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Level 4) or equivalent.

Experience

Extensive hands-on in HV/LV installations and maintenance.

Skills

Strong in cable jointing and termination.
Proficient in substation and switchgear servicing.
Good at HV switching and transformer testing.
Excellent problem-solving and safety focus.
Effective communicator for team coordination.
Adaptable in commercial/industrial settings.

Knowledge

EWRB Practising Licence.
HV/LV cable installations and fault repair.
